Though it is  stock lolipop, I have removed unwanted apps which come with service centre firmware.  So you get more free storage.

SSR (SUPER STOCK ROM) Firmware SP flash tool version

SSR is the most talked about and preferred custom rom for Unite 2 A106.

Here is the rom's SP FLASHTOOL version.

SSR is based on the stock 5.0 rom.  So no bugs at all.  In fact it is more stable and ram-free firmware since it is deodexed.  Binson Jose is the developer of this rom and I have made it SP tool flashable.

Procedure:

Download the below given zip file. Unzip it. Open SP flash tool in your computer. Select scatter file from the unzipped folder. Select firmware upgrade in spft. Click on download.

Now, remove battery of your Units2 and connect the device to the computer thru USB data cable.  It will take 3-4 minutes to complete the flashing.  When you see OK with a green tick mark on your computer, remove the phone, insert battery and power it on. That's it. Your device is updated with Super Stock ROM.

 It is shared version as like stock ROM. That means phone storage will be used for both application and media storage.

Unlike stock LP, SSR gives SD card as default storage.So you don't need to go to settings and select SD card as primary storage.

Enabling Google assistant on ur android phone

Hi,

How would you feel having an assistant to obey your commands at least in your phone ?! Exciting isn't it?

Yes; there is one assistant which is always ready to serve you. It's name is Google Assistant developed by none other than the big G.  Though it is not officially launched all over the world yet, you can try it's beta version.

What you can do with the Google Assistant ?

You can ask any question like you do with Google search, you can ask to -set alarms, send poems daily, set reminders and a lot more ..

Steps to activate GA.

First and foremost - Ensure that you have Android version 6.0 Marshmallow or higher version running on your Android ie; it will not work in versions up to Lollipop.

Now, go to your phone's settings
tap on google under 'Accounts'
Tap on the three dots at the extreme right top.

A pop up will open up now. Click on 'Help&Feedback'.
Again a pop up window will be shown. Click on view in Play Store. ( see above screen shot)

Now Play store will be open and you can see the Google play services  in it. Scroll down below. You can see an option to join Google play services beta program. Click on join.

Then scroll back upwards and if update option is there, click on it. You will get beta activated in few minutes.

Next, search for Google app in the Play store itself. Join it's beta version too same like the above one and update the app.  
After both the updation, click on the left side of your Playstore app. Go to 'My Aps&Game's section where you can see your downloaded apps so far. Click on Beta version heading. You can see Google Play Services and Google app beta versions there.

Now, go to settings- language. Change default language to English (US).

Next,  go to settings-apps. Tap on Google, clear data.  Do the same for Google Play services.

Back to home page, click on the big G icon on your home page if it is already there or tap on Google app icon in menu. When Google page is opened click on the extreme left top. You can see many options. Click on Settings. Now you will be able to see Google assistant settings.

Now, press your phone's home button; Google assistant will pop up. 

You may download Google Allo app from play store and activate Google Assistant.

All done. Your personal assistant is ready to help you!

If you are using a smartphone, obviously you may have signed in with an email account. Your important data will be saved there.   Your contacts can be saved in your email account instead of keeping them in the phone memory/sd card/sim card.  Lets see the option in android phones.

Backup using application


Lot of applications available in the Playstore to back up your data.  Personally I suggest 'Super Backup' app.  Using this application, you can take back up of your contacts, sms, applications, call logs, calendar events, bookmarks and pictures to your sd card or drive. When you start using a new phone, simply install the application again from playstore, restore the data from sd card/drive depending on where you saved it.

Backup of pictures and videos

Your favorite pictures and videos can be saved in the SD card as well as in cloud storage apps like google drive, Mega etc. You will get around 15 gb free space there.

Flash rom using Smart Phone Flash Tool (SP flash tool)

Hi,

If you are a frequent rom changer, no need to tell you the ways in which rom can be flashed. Either through custom recovery (mobile method) or through Smart Phone Flash Tool (PC method).
This post is intended at newbies who need a guide to flash rom through Smart Phone Flash Tool.

It is good to disable anti-virus solution if any in your PC before doing this because it may block flash tool opening attempt sometimes.

Requirements :

Unite2 device

Stock Rom of Unite2  (extract it)

PC

Smart Phone Flash Tool   link to download :sp flash tool 

Compatible USB cable

Connect your Unite2 to PC through USB cable and let it install the software.  Now unzip SPFT. Run flash tool exe as 'run as administrator'.

Now  you can see a 'scatter loading' button at the top right side.  Click on it.  You will be asked to select the location.  Select the 'MT6582 scatter file' txt  which can be seen in the extracted Stock Rom zip.  Select it.  Now you can see that all the first column items in the flash tool box are ticked. Make sure that location column of each item is not left empty.

Now select firmware upgrade option from the drop down menu
Switch off your device, remove battery.
Connect USB cable to the PC port. Not connect device now. wait....

Now click on download in the flash tool. Then connect device to the cable.
Flashing process begins now.  You can see the progress at the bottom.

When the flashing completes, you can see a green tick mark on the flash tool screen.

Now detach device from USB cable, insert battery and switch it on.  It will take some minutes to boot. So wait.
Done.

Note:  If you want to flash a custom recovery,  do the following just after flashing the rom

Download your required recovery (CTR, CWM, etc)
Disconnect phone from PC.
Untick all the boxes except recovery column.  Click on the location column of recovery and select the recovery file from where you have kept it.
Select download option from the drop down menu.  Click on 'download' button at the top.
Now connect phone through USB.
Just as in rom flashing, you can see the progress bar below and a tick mark at the end of flashing.

Done. Disconnect the phone and restart.

Both recovery flashable zip  as well as direct zip file provided.

Recovery flashable zip procedure:

Put the zip file in your SD card, go to your phone's custom recovery, choose ' install zip from SD card' and select the zip.
Reboot.

Direct zip procedure:

You should have enabled root permission in your device.  Install es file explorer/root explorer app.  Then go to device/system/media folder.  Rename the present bootanimation zip there as bootanimation1.  Now copy the downloaded boot zip and paste in device/system/media folder.  Move the bootanimation1 zip to SD card.  Now reboot your device.  Done.

Porting guide for Unite 2 ( Kitkat and Lolipop)

Hi,


Our device Unite2 is blessed with hundreds of custom roms. Developers have ported every possible roms to test on A106. 


Here, I share my guide to port roms to Unite2.


Well, before start, remember that Unite 2 has Mediatek 6582 chipset,  So porting from the same chipset is comparatively easier.  Lets check the procedure.


KITKAT ROMS

Keep the stock rom of your device in your PC.

Most of the port roms are Smart Phone flash tool versions.  So in order to make it recovery flashable, we have to make some changes first.

1. Find out the 'system.img' in the downloaded port rom folder.

2. Extract system.img using  extractor

3. After completion of extracting the contents to 'system' folder, check inside folders like apps & priv-apps.  You have to delete not so required apps for reducing size.  You can delete items like Youtube,Chrome, Opera etc.  Care must be taken not to delete critical apps like Playstore etc. Delete only apps the functions of which you clearly know.

4. Now copy Meta-inf folder from any custom rom of your device.  If you wish, you can add your rom details in the updater script xml file (inside Meta-inf/com/google/android)


5.Copy  pq and vold files from stock rom's system/bin folder and replace it to port rom same folder.

6.Go to port rom etc folder, delete Bluetooth, Firmware and Wifi folders. Take these folders from stock rom and paste in port etc folder.

7. Copy all libaudio files (10 items) from system/lib of STOCK and replace it in PORT sys/lib.

8. Copy  ' Generik.kl' file from STOCK sys/usr/keylabout and replace it in PORT ( not always necessary, do only if keyboard not working when testing the rom)

9. Delete Vendor folder in PORT and take it from STOCK rom.

10. Open 'build prop' xml file in system folder.  Search for rotation and make its value 180. Change language and region according to yours. Check 'density' and make it 210 or 230 or 240.

11. Go to system/media folder of PORT rom, There you see bootanimation zip file.  Extract it somewhere in your PC and check image size.  If it suits your device, it can be used otherwise replace it with STOCK bootanimation.

12.  Take the boot image and logo.bin of STOCK rom and replace them with PORT boot.

Now select META-INF, SYSTEM FOLDER, BOOT and LOGO.BIN together and make zip.

DONE.  Flash the zip through recovery.


LOLIPOP ROM PORTING

1. Take Meta-Inf and boot img from stock 5.0 LP rom

2. Extract system.img into folder just as described in KK porting guide above.

3. Go to ETC folder, delete & replace FIRMWARE, BLUETOOTH & WIFI

4.Go to PORT system/lib/ and delete EGL and HW folders. Take it from STOCK  lp rom.

5.Delete VENDOR folder in system and take it from STOCK rom.

6. Bootanimation and  buildprop edit just as mentioned in KK port above.  If the port rom is of single sim device, do changes to make it dual supported.  Search for  these lines and make like this.

 persist.gemini.sim_num=2  
 persist.radio.multisim.config=dsds
 ril.current.share_modem=2


Build prop edits:
Check rotation value and make it 180
Check density value and make it  220/230/240 any one of these.


Done.  Make all folders into a zip just in KK port and flash through recovery.
